- The bathroom! The goal is to gut the whole thing, buy this antique sink (that we found at Old House Parts in Kennebunk) and marble tile (something like this) and redo the bathroom complete with a new shower, (something very simple)... new walls and some shelving. The washer and dryer will live downstairs instead of in the bathroom.
- The entry way/sitting room. We need to strip the layers and layers of paint off of the trim and re-do it. Here's a shot of the paint layers after 4+ rounds of stripper!
Layers and layers of years of paint.
Don't worry! I'm prepared for lead paint! |
Getting ready for spring. Spring melting has uncovered a few issues that we'll work on this spring. One of them is the leaking that happens in basement when the snow melts. Here's Justin mixing some cement to solve that issue!
- Getting the walls prepped for the "front room" where we will eventually make an evening hang out with some more modern colors.
- Furniture! We desperately need to fill the house with good furniture. Don't believe me? Here's the couch we're using right now.
- Justin has been working today (4/2) on the barns--putting some lights in, cleaning up, etc. Here, he explains the lighting plan...
- Prepping the floor. The floor in the entry way room needs to be cleaned up and refinished--it will still look pretty rustic, but I made some progress last weekend.
