February

It has been a long time coming, but the entry room is finally drywalled!  Now it needs to get "mud and tape" and then...paint!

Time to get the kitchen wall closed up.  Justin takes down the old drywall.
Old drywall is down...To see the kitchen in progress click here.

New drywall up.

Of course, it takes much longer in real life.

Drywall up.  No more door!

This weekend, we're doing some work in the bathroom.  This ceiling must come down so we can rewire for a light (this one no longer works), put in a fan, and put up new drywall.

This wood paneling will come down.  I know it looks nice, but it looks less nice in person.

A few hours later...we've uncovered the plaster.

The plaster ceiling will be coming down...

Plaster down, exposing the wood.

Workers need to eat!  A little winter BBQ.
Buffalo burgers and asparagus.

Justin is wiring the upstairs bathroom for a small "kick heater."

Wiring is ready.

Heater is installed.

Warmth is soon to come.
The wiring continues into the basement.  I suppose the wire has to connect to a power source.

January/February

It's a little tough to tell from this picture, but the parlor has bad carpet and old wallpaper (especially the lower part)
Another shot of the parlor carpet.

Note the staining below the window on the wallpaper.  Yuck!

I pulled up the carpet to reveal wide plank floors.  This is right after they've been washed for the 3rd time.

Wood floors revealed!  They'll need to be sanded...someday.

The next step was to get rid of the old wallpaper.  I put a coat of white on the lower half.  It's a slight improvement.
We moved apartments in Cambridge and had an extra couch and rug.  They now live in the parlor.
A more live-able parlor.

A self-portrait I had to include.  Tired workers!

Cindy and her husband came to visit!  Note our Hunter's orange.

MMM. Farm shrimp cocktail.

Stew in the making.

I made stew while Justin kept working on the drywall in the entry room.

Slowly but surely the drywall was finished throughout the entire room.

Whenever friends come to visit, they are required to work!  Ann supervises while Ben puts drywall on the ceiling.

Chester always works very hard.

I have no idea what Justin is doing, but we rented a van so we could move more furniture up to the farm and get more drywall.

Justin took a break from the inside work to check out the posts under the barn...they need a little work.  Hm...Do those look crooked to you?

They've lasted at least a hundred years; I'm sure they'll last another hundred.

January...and very little snow this year.

Justin got on top of the lower barn so he could make some repairs on the roof and ridge.

That's a tall barn.  (See Justin?)

The view of the house, taken during Justin's roof repair.

It may not be snowing, but it's cold.  These sodas were left in the pantry.  The pantry got a little cold and the frozen sodas blew up!

A little snow, but still not much for February.
