End of Jul

New door!

But, what color should it be?

Door from the inside.  Beautiful.

Looking into the bathroom...nice light!

The shower isn't really usable right now...

Uncovered in the bathroom.

Did you want a little privacy?

Primer on the door.

In the meantime, Anderson Insulation comes to "blow in" insulation.

Looks like a scene from E.T.

July Celebration, Projects and Visits

HAPPY 4th OF JULY!
The siding is off.  The two front doors are a little unnecessary.  The one on the left will be wider, the one on the right will be closed off.

Preparing for a new front door...

The new one will be a bit wider.

It's hot!

The shower is now in the center of the room so that we can take down the plaster around it.  The bathroom upstairs in the only option now!

A lovely shower...looks like an art installation!

Beautiful bathroom window views call for an updated bathroom!

This week, Britt, Brian and Jeni and Steve came to visit so that they could paint the Grange.  Here, Steve stares longingly at his baby.
They celebrated with a potluck on the first floor.

party time!

Glasses found in the Grange.

Meanwhile, Justin had finished the windows he had worked so hard on in the spring.

Justin contemplates the window placement.

Progress in the entryway...and a fox!

Well, the plaster is down in the library and we have pulled everything apart in preparation for blown-in insulation and then drywall.  Justin cut open the pass-through into the kitchen, opening up the space fully in a way that will eventually match the location of the new wood stove!

With only six months under our belt here, we feel like we've made good progress even though at times it feels very slow!  Winter is coming and we are prepared to be warm!
How did this room look before?

Justin makes pizza while reading information about wood stoves.

This is where the wood stove will go.  The inner box is the stove with the outline of the stone it will sit on. Now we just need to finish the walls in the library/entryway and buy the stove!

You may remember the weird pass-through window from the entryway into the kitchen...

BEFORE (from the kitchen side)

Quick break to see what's happening with an incoming cemetery resident.

An evening break by the fire peaks the curiosity of a gray fox!

A beautiful day for some demolition.

Goodbye pass-through!
