Progress in the entryway...and a fox!

Well, the plaster is down in the library and we have pulled everything apart in preparation for blown-in insulation and then drywall.  Justin cut open the pass-through into the kitchen, opening up the space fully in a way that will eventually match the location of the new wood stove!

With only six months under our belt here, we feel like we've made good progress even though at times it feels very slow!  Winter is coming and we are prepared to be warm!
How did this room look before?

Justin makes pizza while reading information about wood stoves.

This is where the wood stove will go.  The inner box is the stove with the outline of the stone it will sit on. Now we just need to finish the walls in the library/entryway and buy the stove!

You may remember the weird pass-through window from the entryway into the kitchen...

Quick break to see what's happening with an incoming cemetery resident.

An evening break by the fire peaks the curiosity of a gray fox!

A beautiful day for some demolition.

Goodbye pass-through!

  2. That's gotta be a lot of work already. Well done! That's quite a big farmhouse to set up. But of course, it's really just as fun as sprucing up a newly-bought house. With six months well-spent into making the house fabulous, everyone just can't wait to finally see how everything turns out. Good luck!
