June

June in Maine--a good time to re-paint and top the flag pole!

Now that the shower is drywalled, it's time to make the shower  pan--by hand!

The new drain and other supplies for the job of making the shower drain!

Step one...putting down the base (I'm sure there's a more proper name for it) of plywood.

Taking a break from the shower pan to look at tile choices...hmmmm.

Tile option--also note the hole in the floor for the drain.

Base is down.

Here's where the faucet and shower head will be (see the plumbing?)

Hole cut for drain...check.

Drain assembly in.  Nice drain cover!

Sealing the seams on the backerboard.

And putting a first coat of cement (I think) on the base.

Done...and then the cat checked it out.  See his prints?

Looks good!

Time to break for Justin's famous "Beer Can Chicken"
The main room currently...the stove is still covered from the mudding and taping.

Black door and yellow trim?
The new vent goes into the ceiling..this used to be just a hole!

All this work inside--the lawn is looking a little field-like.

Time for a layer of thick plastic sheeting to waterproof everything.

Nerds in overalls.

Jumping from job to job...he never stops!  (And you'd think I just take pictures all the time!)  Justin sands part of the floor so he can put the threshold in.

Justin put in the threshold into the kitchen.

Meanwhile...a little gravel goes around the drain and the plastic sheet is set after being water-tested overnight.

And now the concrete...a grueling mixing and smooth job.

We break for radishes!

Smooth as silk!

Potential bathroom colors.  (Don't worry, that bad linoleum will be gone!)
